6th Annual Touristic Half-Marathon and 10K in Nuevo Vallarta Villa Estancia

Whether you’re lacing up running shoes to compete or heading to the route in flip-flops as a spectator, you won’t want to miss the 6th Annual Touristic Half-Marathon and 10K slated for November 22, 2014.

Aside from the scenic route, road race is appreciated for its field cap of 1,100 participants. In 2013, some 800 runners hit their strides in the globally recognized race that is fully supported by the Mexican Federation of Athletics Association.

With its flat terrain at sea level, the route is considered fast. Riviera Nayarit’s milder November temperatures and 7:00 am start time add to the appeal. Runners enjoy such pleasant distractions as lush golf courses, shaded avenues and stellar ocean views. The Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) has previously lauded the course’s natural beauty, noting that it stands out among the other 150 destinations the organization has covered.

The Villa Group will serve as the 2014 event’s official host. Participants are urged to book accommodations early and request discounted rates at the company’s Villa La Estancia and Villa del Palmar in Nuevo Vallarta, and Villa del Palmar in Puerto Vallarta.

It’s also a bonus that the Friday Race Expo is held in the adjacent Villa del Palmar’s convention center. Registration covers an official event T-shirt, commemorative finisher’s medal, time tracking, water/Powerade stations, post-race snack, website published results and free photo downloads.
