The glitter and glow of the 2015 Mardi Gras season has officially begun.
Puerto Vallarta's Annual Mardi Gras Parade will hit the streets on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 8:00 pm.
This city-sponsored bead-hurling parade will start in front of the Municipal Stadium and will travel south along the world-famous malecon, through "Old Town" to Olas Altas and the stunning new pier which inspired this year's logo designed by Guillermo Palafox Hernandez.
It’s time for celebration and to show the city's diversity. It is an occasion that unites the advanced with the conventional, the straight with the gay, gratification with religion, and the adolescent with the old.
Grand Marshalls, leading the 3.5 km parade, will be the Act II's Voice of Vallarta contestants. Over 20,000 spectators enjoyed last year's parade which featured dozens of crowd-wowing entries.
This year, coordinators are offering a 5,000 peso cash prize to the most inventive parade entry and optimistic that participation will be record-setting.
Non-profit organizations are encouraged to join free for the parade. For businesses, now is the time to reserve your parade entry, which are in a limited number, for $200 pesos. Register at Mardi Gras PV.
We invite you to add your charity or supporting organizations' news stories and coming events to PVAngels so we can share them with the world. Do it now!
