We are looking for Sweetheart Dog of the Year! Do you think your dog is the best? Let's find out!

This is to celebrate your REAL sweetheart!

Join Amigos de Bucerias on Sunday, February 15, 3:00 until 5:00 pm, for our annual Pets Picnic Valentine Special.

We'll have light hearted competitions: dog obedience; best dressed dog; dog and owner lookalike. Entry fee for each competition is 10 pesos and we have prizes for the winners.

The event is Valentine themed and lovely hearts will be available by donation to decorate your darling – or wear your heart on your sleeve!

Food including hot dogs with all the fixings (of course!), cookies, beverages including wine and beer for sale and some lovely raffle prizes.

If you haven’t been before, the venue is the Tercera Edad Seniors Facility (opposite the charro/rodeo ring). It is delightfully rural, yet close to the highway. Coming from Mega, turn right on Encino, bright orange hardware store on the corner, continue 4 short blocks to the dry canal, turn right.

Admission is free but donations are always welcome. All dogs must be on a leash.
All funds raised go to spaying/neutering of local cats and dogs.

For more information telephone Julie at (329) 298-6033 or Karen at (319) 329-298-2760, or email

We hope to see you at this great fun event to raise money for the Paws and Claws animal wellness project – even non dog owners will get a kick out of this!
