Over the last few years, “Beyond Gay Friendly” Puerto Vallarta’s cabaret and theater scene has really come into its own, attracting well-known and established artists to our gentle winter climate, friendly local hospitality and eager and receptive audiences, mixed with tourists and locals alike.

Thanks to our partnerships with The Palm Caberet and Act II Stages, Casa Cupula will be playing host to a number of these acts over the next few months.

We had the honor earlier this week of hosting the iconic Coco Peru for her first night in town. I usually don’t get star struck, but Coco holds a special place in my heart as her films “Trick” and “Girls Will Be Girls” were some of the first gay cult cinema I was exposed to in college during my coming out phase, not to mention her role in “To Wong Foo”!

Coco joined us for a delicious dinner at our Taste Restaurant (I have to say, our chef Cesar Barajas is really bringing it home this season with some creative dishes in good taste!).

She hosted our Friday Night Warm Up Party, and gave us a preview of her upcoming show at The Palm Cabaret, Coco Peru Live!.

In Coco Peru Live!, she performs some of her favorite monologues and songs spanning her long career, as well as some new material. Whether you’ve heard all or some of these stories, or if you’re a Coco virgin, come see why Lily Tomlin called Coco “one of the last great storytellers” and experience the trailblazing Queen who elevated drag, whilst still wearing sensible heels. It’s sure to be hysterical!
