The wine glasses are ready to be filled in Puerto Vallarta because from February 25 to March 1 the IX Vallarta-Nayarit Wine Fest 2015 Edition will be held in 9 restaurants and 4 hotels in this region; for this year, the festival of the wine culture includes a keynote, a national competition of sommeliers, the Wine Expo and the traditional popular dance.

The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust advises that the Vallarta Wine Fest 2015 will begin on Wednesday, February 25 at 6:00 in the afternoon with a welcome to the participants, press, restaurants, hotels, winemakers and sommeliers at Casa Velas Hotel with the presence of more than one dozen renowned experts in the process of making wine, the way of serving it and the pairings.

Participating restaurants in Puerto Vallarta are La Dolce Vita, La Leche, Portobello, La Terraza Di Roma, Sonora Prime Grill; in Nuevo Vallarta, Portobello Bistro & Lounge and La Dolce Vita; in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Frascati and Don Pedros in Sayulita.

Also involved in the festival is the Andrea Restaurant of the Velas Vallarta Hotel; Casa Velas' Emiliano; Luca of the Grand Velas Nuevo Vallarta and Tramonto of the Mayan Palace.

The program continues Thursday the 26th, at 11:00 in the morning where we will be meeting national winemakers and sommeliers at Secrets Vallarta Hotel. The official opening will be at 6:00 in the afternoon of that same day.

Friday, February 27 at 10:00 in the morning a keynote with the theme of "Mexican Cuisine and Wine" will be delivered by chef Ignacio Cadena and sommelier Agustín Rodríguez, at the Sheraton Buganvilias Hotel.

At 11:00 am will be the semifinal of the national contest of sommeliers involving the best six of Mexico.

At 6:00 in the afternoon the festival will continue with a series of pairings, tastings, training in service of the wine and its protocol and presentation of special wines in different hotels and restaurants in the region.

Saturday, February 28 will be the Expo Vino (Wine Expo) from 1:00 to 6:00 pm in the Conference Room of the Velas Vallarta Hotel, with tasting and sale of the finest Mexican wines, where the best winemakers and wineries in Mexico will participate in this sampling.

Special prices for restaurants and hotels in Puerto Vallarta will be 1:00 to 3:00 in the afternoon; the chefs, sommeliers, hotel services and restaurants from 3:00 to 4:00 pm and private buyers, guests and oenophiles (wine lovers) from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

On Sunday, March 1 the traditional popular festival of the culture of wine will take place in Lazaro Cardinas Plaza from 6:00 until 10:00 pm. This popular celebration includes wine tasting and sale of wines and gastronomy of the participating restaurants in the Jalisco-Nayarit Winefest, in a party atmosphere with music.

It is worth mentioning that this festival has contributed greatly to the dissemination of gastronomic culture and wine in this region; visitors seeking high-level dining experiences are one of the most important segments of tourism.

Also the Festival is characterized by generated a great response from the community in the tasting and sale of wines and foods of the participating restaurants in a cheerful popular celebration.
