From Medicine Hat to Bucerias and Girls' Night Out! Amigos de La Cruz

Director Becky Grewer lives full-time in Bucerias with her husband Lyle. They retired to Bucerias from Medicine Hat, Alberta two years ago.

In their north of the border life, Becky and Lyle were transferred to 14 different towns in Alberta with Lyle's job, finally settling in Medicine Hat in 1995.

Becky worked as an insurance broker in Medicine Hat and was involved in church choirs, the Hat Harmonettes Barbershop Chorus and the Kinettes service group.

Having cultivated a lifelong joy of singing, in 1995 Becky auditioned for her first musical, Paint Your Wagon, and has been hooked on community theatre ever since. She appeared in numerous roles on stage, directed a sold out run of Grease and has served as props mistress, musical director and vocal director for Medicine Hat Musical Theater.

Becky currently directs the Bucerias Singers, is learning to play the ukulele and if that wasn't enough, plays in a weekly jam session in Bucerias.

Early retirement and Bucerias' warm temperatures suit her just fine!!

She is looking forward to directing this year's murder mystery, Girls' Night Out.

Once again this season the Amigos de la Cruz is the sponsoring producer of the ONLY amateur community theatre in the Bay Area. This is our third season, and each year the event raises funds for the Amigos' good works in our community, and provides some super live entertainment for audiences from near and far.
 
The hard work of the production staff, the director and the cast called The Amigos de La Cruz Players, has already started. Lines, lines, lines ... are in the air this Christmas season for them all.
 
The murder mystery dinner theatre is entitled "Girls' Night Out," it has a cast of 7 and is set today in an Italian restaurant.

Of course some one dies....but who did it??? And how?
 
It will be staged at Philo's again this season, thanks to the kind sponsorship of the management.
 
Dates to remember are February 23, 24, 28 (matinee) and March 1.
 
All seats will be reserved, so plan on getting your tickets as soon as they go on sale.....you will be the first to know!!
