'The WidowSSS of Pancho Villa' Dinner Show at The Boutique Theatre
An original reader’s theatre presentation of a new work, “The WidowSSS of Pancho Villa” makes its international stage debut.
RosAngelica Moreno, a Mexican historian and writer, put this show together to explore the myths and truths behind Pancho Villa.
The Boutique presents a Readers Theatre production featuring the true and intimate story of the most famous of the all generals of the Mexican Revolution, Francisco “Pancho” Villa.
The story unfolds at the funeral wake, the night of his tragic assassination, with only four of his many widows present, but two others getting the word and straggling in.
The telegraph wires had been cut by his killers so Parral, Chihuahua was totally incommunicado.
He was officially married 18 times and 27 women came forth to claim widow’s benefits after his death.
He was known as the Centaur of the North for becoming “one” with his horse, but this story reveals him as the mythical Centaur of Greek tragedies, drawing women to him, like bees to honey.
Why did they love him and forsake everything to follow him into the Revolution? Did they know about each other? Was the real Pancho Villa an unsatiable lover of women, and what did they all love about him?
And what evil forces of greed, hate and envy finally doom him to deadly betrayals.
Come and discover the romantic and personal side of the toughest, hardest general of the Mexican Revolution!
