There are 64 different types of “chiles” in Mexico and more then 25 are from Oaxaca state.
We could spend a long time on this list but for today we would like to introduce you to these 3 “chiles” that you can easily find here in Puerto Vallarta:
• Chile de Arbol: probably the most aesthetically known around the world this long and thin chile has about 7cm height and 1cm width is green when fresh and red when mature. Very popular in North Mexico as a chile de arbol sauce;
• Chile Cascabel: similar with cherry format, it is green when fresh, red when mature and brown when dry and get its typical aroma to be used;
• Chile Habanero: considered one of the spiciest chiles, the Habanero requires special care with the hands and eyes when cooking it. So imagine when eating it!
At Taste Restaurant you can find these 3 “chiles” and more in our Creative Mexican Cuisine dishes. Our Zarandeado Fish Fillet is served with an adobo sauce mixed with Chile de Arbol, Ancho, Cascabel and Yahualica (originally from Jalisco).
