Imagine dozens of floats hurling beads and hundreds of people sauntering from the Sheraton Hotel and along the world-famous Malecon to Puerto Vallarta’s ‘Old Town’ in a dazzling array of sequins, feathers, leathers and speedos to celebrate the pride and diversity of the special season, all while more than 30,000 people cheer from the sidelines.
The ninth annual Mardi Gras Parade promises to continue to show the world our vibrant community on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 beginning at 8:00 pm.
In addition to the parade, 2017 activities will feature a Pet Parade, Mask Workshop, Movie Screening, Art Show, Jazz & Beer festival, and kids activities.
A limited edition of t-shirts are for sale for only 150 pesos at PVRPV and at the Old Town Farmers Market (now the Olas Altas Farmers Market), in Lazaro Cardenas Park, Saturdays from 9:30 am until 2:00 pm.
As always, there will be after-parties and dinner specials.
Non-profit organizations are able to participate for free and businesses can take part for a nominal 200 peso entry fee.
Carnaval organizers are offering a 5,000 peso cash prize to the most inventive parade entry, so it is time to get creative.
