Los Mangos Library Announces New Weekly Market Every Saturday Adriana Garcia - Biblioteca Los Mangos

Join us for the inauguration of Mercado Los Mangos, the newest outdoor market in Puerto Vallarta on Saturday January 28 from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Located in the Los Mangos Public Library, this 'local buy' market will offer a wide selection of locally produced artisan products. Choose from fruits, vegetables, baked goods, coffee, cheese, sauces, chocolates, clothing, jewelry and crafts. Enjoy live music and entertainment, with food areas that offer international dishes prepared on site, and a children's craft shop that will make Los Mangos Market, the "place where you have to be" for children and children at heart.

We are very excited to have a market in the Los Mangos Library," says Adriana García, Executive Director of Los Mangos Library.

Since 1996, the Library has been an essential part of Puerto Vallarta's artistic culture. It is the only one of its kind in the region, with more than 30,000 books in Spanish and English and providing 4,500 individual services per month. Its children's reading room, dance studio, audio / video library, multipurpose rooms and classrooms offer conferences, exhibitions and meetings for local residents and international visitors.

García continues: "This 'local buy' market is a way to materialize some of the fundamental values that we defend and that drive all our programs and events: creativity, continuous training, social responsibility and a strong sense of community. In addition, Los Mangos Market will provide a more stable revenue stream for the library, which currently receives private donations and minimal government financial support."

Charlotte Semple, a Canadian citizen and local entrepreneur, is donating her time and experience as founder of the Old Town Farmers Market - Tianguis Cultural (OTFM-TC - now Olas Altas Farmers Market) to create this new market.

"The values of the Library are congruent with mine, helping people express their entrepreneurial spirit in order to be financially self-sufficient. The Mangos Market will be my legacy," says Semple. She plans to return to Canada, but not before the market is in full swing.

Los Mangos Market will be located in the beautiful garden of the library. Not only will it share the best of local products, but will also complement all the events and services that this library offers.

Los Mangos Market will open every Saturday from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm until the last Saturday of May 2017. Cash and debit / credit cards will be accepted.
