The wine glasses are ready to be filled in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit from March 1 to March 5 for the XI Vallarta-Nayarit Wine Festival 2017 edition in 10 restaurants and 5 hotels in this region.

This year, Wine Festival includes Keynote Lectures, the Meeting of Winemakers & Sommeliers, the Wine Expo and Traditional Folk Festival.

The Organizing Committee reported that the opening event will be on Wednesday, March 1 at 6:00 pm at Casa Velas with a welcome to the participants, press, restaurants, hotels, winemakers and sommeliers; the presence of more than a dozen experts in the process of winemaking is expected, how to serve and pairings.

Also included in the festivities will be a Wine Tasting at "Dinner in the Sky."

Participating restaurants in Puerto Vallarta are La Dolce Vita, La Leche, Portobello, La Terraza di Roma, Le Kliff. In Riviera Nayarit, Portobello Bistro & Lounge and La Dolce Vita in Nuevo Vallarta; Frascati in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle; and Don Pedros in Sayulita.

Andrea restaurant at Velas Vallarta will also participate along with Emiliano at Casa Velas; Luca at Grand Velas Nuevo Vallarta; Vid a Vid Vidanta and the Fiesta Americana Grand Hotel.

During the festival we will have the special visit of Allegra Antinori from the family of the largest Winemaker in Italy and the most important individual wine supplier in the world.

The Keynote Lectures will take place on Thursday, March 2 and Friday, March 3, 11:00 am at the Hotel Friendly Vallarta. Topics will be "Wine History in the Present World" with guest lecturer Allegra Antinori and "The Wines of Mexico and their Current Consumption." Free entrance.

At 6:00 pm the festival continues with a series of pairings, tastings, training in wine service and its protocol and the presentation of special wines in participating hotels and restaurants.

On Saturday, March 4 the Expo Vino (Wine Expo) will take place from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at Velas Vallarta, with tasting and sale of the best Mexican and Italian wines at promotional prices along with cheese and sandwich tastings.

The Traditional Folk festival will be on Sunday, March 5 beginning at 6:00 pm. As in the past, the venue will be Lazaro Cardenas Park in Old Town Vallarta. This popular celebration includes tasting and sale of wines and cuisine of the participating restaurants of the Vallarta-Nayarit Wine Festival with a party atmosphere, music, and very reduced prices.

Note that this Festival has contributed greatly to the spread of wine and food culture in this region; one of the most important segments of tourism for visitors looking for high-level dining experiences.

Also the Festival of this event is characterized by generating a great response from the community in the tasting and sale of wines and food from participating restaurants in a lively popular celebration, where an attendance of more than three thousand people live and enjoy parties, locals and visiting tourists in great cordiality, a phenomenon that exists only in Puerto Vallarta, unlike other domestic destinations.
