Pro Sayulita will partner with community groups to raise money for Sayulita’s pressing wastewater and infrastructure needs. Pro Sayulita’s mission is to work with independent community partners to address problems facing Sayulita. Here are the main projects that we believe will make a marked improvement to the quality of life in Sayulita.
• Completion of the Calle Gaviotas project, which will stop black water from flowing down Calle Manuel Navarette and into the river.
• Completion of a formal engineering study of the amounts and limits of the aquifers serving Sayulita, and their capacity to meet population growth.
• Continuation of street and drainage cleaning throughout the town.
• Development of a system to collect recyclables in order to reduce trash.
Eco Sayulita and other community groups will help Pro Sayulita raise the money needed for these projects, and donations will be deposited into a fund earmarked for this. Donations to the infrastructure fund are deductible from US tax returns to the extent allowed by law. Donors will receive an email acknowledging their contribution for tax purposes.
An advisory committee will be formed by Pro Sayulita and our community partners. This infrastructure committee will be open to interested parties. The committee will be given technical information and financial updates.
Pro Sayulita’s USA accountant will provide accounting for the funds raised and disbursed. This money will also be used to cover expenses involved with accounting, reporting this income to the US IRS, and banking fees.
Make a Donation:
The cost of carrying out these infrastructure projects will be high. The estimate by the design engineer is 11 million pesos for the Gaviotas project alone. Pro Sayulita asks that donors come forward to contribute generously to the infrastructure fund in USD by wire transfer to our account with MountainOne Bank: routing number 211871015, account number 305248743.
Donors may also write checks payable in USD to Friends of Sayulita. Please include a cover letter with our MountainOne account number. Mail the check and cover letter to MountainOne Bank, 93 Main Street, North Adams, MA 01247, USA.
