The fifth Gay Pride Festival in Puerto Vallarta will take place from May 21 to 28, 2017 and its Organizing Committee is proud to announce all the events that will be part of this festival in honor of the vibrant LGBT community that live and visit our tourist destination.

Vallarta Pride 2017 begins activities on May 21 with the Opening Party at Mantamar Beach Club, where other multiple Pool Parties will be held throughout the week, such as the DJ Beat Pool Parties on May 22nd, 23rd and 24th, starting at 11:00 am; Then on May 25th, the Fashion Party; and HER Party, the Women's Party taking place on Friday, May 26, starting at 8:00 pm, which includes a three-course dinner and a comic stand up show, as well as the presentation of DJ Vo!d and youtubers Bria & Chrissy.

Cultural events that promote diversity will not be lacking this year. On Monday, May 22nd there will be held the Candlelight Memorial with the theme "Ending AIDS Together" which includes two marches that will leave Parque Hidalgo and Parque Lázaro Cárdenas at 6:00 pm and join at the Arches of the Malecon in a commemoration. On May 23, don’t miss the theater play nominated for 4 Tony Awards in 2014, Casa Valentina, which will take place at ACT II Entertainment.

Also on Wednesday, May 24th, the documentary "Beyond Gay: The Politics of Pride" will be screened at ACT II Entertainment, at 3:30 pm, where a panel discussion will also be held with one of the producers of this Canadian film, Bob Christie. At the end of this event, it's time to celebrate with the traditional Pride Parade, which will be very special this year because for the first time, the Mayor of Puerto Vallarta, Arturo Davalos, will participate along with his family, the Police Chief, Firefighters, and the Original first ever Rainbow Flag.

The parade will start at 8:00 pm at the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center Hotel. The route will pass through the Malecon and then cross the Río Cuale bridge to Lázaro Cárdenas street, where the first Block Party of Vallarta Pride will begin and where bars like La Noche, CC Slaughters, Fiesta Bar, Mr. Flamingo, La Margarita, Paco's Ranch and Los Muertos Brewing will offer music, drinks and lots of fun on the street. At the same time, at the El Soñador Bar, there will be held the exclusive Women's Rooftop Party, starting at 9:00 pm with the live performance of DJ Vo!d and youtubers Bria & Chrissy.

On May 26, the traditional Drag Derby will return with two hours of fun and twenty-four Drag Queens who will compete in seven crazy challenges to win 8,000 pesos in prizes. This will take place in Pulpito and Olas Altas corner starting at 6:00 pm; The Glowjob Party at Casa Cupula, starting at 9:00 pm, promises incredible lighting under the stars and the best circuit music by DJ Luis Skarraman, as well as GoGo dancers, body painting and more; And the Black Party, presented by Alejandro Castillo, the new artist of Lucas Entertainment, will feature international DJ Jose Cortina Spinnin. Do not miss the Black Party at the Lions Club of Lazaro Cardenas #279, starting at 11:00 pm.

The confirmed events for Saturday, May 27th are the Wet & Wild Cruise that leaves from Los Muertos Pier at 11:00 am; The Health Fair, which is taking place in Parque Hidalgo at 5:00 pm, and the White Party 'Carnivale' by Jeffrey Sanker, who will bring the flavor of Rio de Janeiro to Mantamar Beach Club from 6:00 pm.

Vallarta Pride 2017 will culminate on May 28 with the Farewell Party at Mantamar Beach Club from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm.

Vallarta Pride is an event held annually in May that brings more than 15,000 tourists to Puerto Vallarta just during the festival. It has been created to celebrate the diverse and vibrant LGBTQI community that lives and visits Puerto Vallarta and that over the years has influenced and integrated its culture, heritage and history.
