The Riviera Nayarit Welcomes October with a Variety of Events Norma Hernandez - CVB of Riviera Nayarit

The Riviera Nayarit is offering some great events for the month of October, including sports competitions both on land and in the water, as well as excellent culinary experiences—there’s something for everyone. The Groups and Events office of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) lends its support to over 80 national and international activities in the region per year, enhancing the destination’s reach, generating revenue for the communities and attracting very important media coverage.

Here’s a quick look at what’s coming up:

Vidanta Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament  (October 5-7)
The two courses designed by Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus are ready to welcome the 2nd Vidanta Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament to be held from October 5-7. Players will have the opportunity to spend time together and show off their best swings alongside famous celebrities from the international entertainment and sports worlds. San Blas Pee Wee Surf League | Punta de Mita (October 7 and 14)
This itinerant completion continues its rounds through Nayarit’s coastal towns, hoping to discover the next big thing in surfing. The next competition on October 7th will be in San Blas and the following one on October 14th will be in Punta de Mita. Competitors must be minors between the ages of 4 and 12.

5th La Cruz de Huanacaxtle Fishing Tournament (October 18-21)
The top tournament in the Mexican Pacific returns to the Riviera Nayarit, a destination that offers all the best attractions for lovers of sport fishing. The tournament will take place from October 18-21 in the Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.  Fishermen interested in participating in the competition can visit the official webpage for the Tepic Sport Fishing Club.

Maratón Acuático Alfredo Barba Hernández Aquatic Marathon (October 28)
Considered one of the most relevant events for open water competitions in Mexico, this national series will welcome over 600 swimmers in Rincón de GUayabitos from over 10 states in the nation. Saturday, October 28, at 7 a.m. sharp.

9th Vallarta - Nayarit Gastronomica (October 29 – November 1)
This is a gourmet weekend when professionals and lovers of gastronomy can come together to enjoy different events in Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit. There will be workshops, pairings, tastings, dinners and special events for academia, culinary professionals and the most demanding foodies. Christ the King Day (October 31)
The festivities in honor of Christ the King are very special, particularly in the community of Ixtlán del Río, Nayarit. They’re celebrated on the last Sunday in October, though a novena is held beforehand with the participation of the surrounding neighborhoods, which compete to have the best pilgrimage and float. The celebration is open to the entire family where peace and harmony reign.
