Spanish Chefs Head to Mexico for Vallarta Nayarit Gastronomica Foods & Wines from Spain

Spanish chefs are heading to Mexico in droves at the end of the month as the 9th edition of Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica gets underway, from October 29th to November 1st. Held in several locations in Puerto Vallarta, the event will include cooking demos, tastings, gourmet workshops, presentations, and an exhibition.

Spain is the guest country at this year’s event, and according to its organizers, “Spanish cuisine is considered to be one of the most important and influential cuisines, not just in Mexico but around the world. Accordingly, Mexican chefs are very keen to meet with Spanish chefs and learn more about them, their work, their techniques, and their ideas.”

There will be 33 top-notch chefs at the event, 13 of which are Spanish, and 3 of which are based in Mexico. The Spanish contingency will include Kisco García, Diego Gallegos, Juan Antonio Medina, Begoña Rodrigo, Diego Guerrero, Dani García, Paco Roncero, Javier Aranada, and Pepe Solla. Among them they have countless Michelin stars and Repsol suns.  

The schedule is chock-a-block with activities, including presentations and cooking demos from Juan Antonio Medina, called “Without tradition there is no avant-garde;” Diego Guerrero, called “Mexico’s influence on DSTAgE’s cooking” and Javier Aranda, called “Own Identity – Global Influence.”
