Call to Action in Saving the Battered Women's Shelters in Mexico

Dear Friends,

Critical situation concerning shelters for battered women and their children in Mexico.

50% of the shelters for battered women are at risk of closing due to the suspension of a federal government grant that provides 80% or more of the operating budget for these shelters. The lives of many women and children will be put at great risk. This is a clear violation of national and international human rights agreements that Mexico has signed.

Please share this information with your contacts. Mexico has an extremely poor track record concerning human rights. Help us to put international pressure on the Mexican president.

Please let me know if you have any political contacts that might be able to help.

Sincerely,

David Zude
