On behalf of all our kids, families, volunteers and staff, Pasitos de Luz in Casa Connor wishes you many blessings, much happiness, and even more love.
This January will mark three years since we moved into our beautiful home at Casa Connor.
As we approach our fourth year here, we continue to feel blessed for all the love and support we have received during that time. In fact, we have enjoyed 20 years of love and support. Pasitos de Luz came into existence in 1999, and next year will mark 20 years since we were officially registered as a charity. From working with just six kids at that time, to caring for well over 130 kids now, our charity goes from strength to strength, and that is all thanks to you, our friends and supporters. We cannot thank you enough.
Next year is shaping up to be another landmark year for Pasitos de Luz in Casa Connor. As you will have read in our December newsletter, construction of our new therapy pool started on the 5th November, and progress on this continues apace. Construction will continue over Christmas and the New Year, and we are still aiming for the pool to be operational by the middle of 2020.
Most importantly, however, the kids we support have continued to make extraordinary progress, thanks to the love and dedication of our teachers, carers and therapists. Take the example of little Mia, who arrived at Pasitos de Luz in early 2019 and who was undernourished and underdeveloped. She could barely roll over by herself, let alone crawl or walk. You will now see Mia doing circuits of the corridors in Casa Connor, with the help of a walker. We believe she will be walking independently in 2020.
We hope to see you all in 2020! Our kids return on Monday 6th January.
