Update from Riviera Nayarit Convention & Visitors Bureau on COVID-19

Norma Hernandez - Riviera Nayarit CVB
April 4, 2020

On behalf of the Riviera Nayarit CVB, we would like to take this opportunity to applaud everyone’s resilience, solidarity and strength during these very trying times. We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy as we continue to monitor the evolving COVID-19 outbreak and follow the guidelines of the federal and international authorities.

With that said, we would like to share the most recent updates as it relates to the tourism industry in the destination. As per the Mexican Federal Government's decree, the Governor of the State of Nayarit announced the suspension of all non-essential activities until April 30, 2020 to minimize the spread of COVID-19. This includes any activities on the beach, at hotels, spas, bars and restaurants. Restaurants are only permitted to offer take-out or delivery services. Only essential venues can operate including hospitals, pharmacies, transportation, restaurants, banks, grocery stores and food markets, convenient stores, gas stations, cleaning services, funeral homes and hardware stores.

During this time, it is also crucial to only follow and share news from authorized sources to avoid rumors and the transmission of misinformation, which generates panic that leads to overconsumption. While this outbreak has certainly challenged everyone in different ways, maintaining calm is the best way to make the best decisions.

As promised, we will continue to be transparent and proactive in our communication to all travel partners. As a reminder, we update the Riviera Nayarit Convention & Visitors Bureau COVID-19 statement on a daily basis, which can be found on RivieraNayarit.com. For any additional questions, please contact info@rivieranayarit.com.mx.

Sincerely,

Riviera Nayarit Convention & Visitors Bureau
