August Update and Needs from A Dog's New Life in Bucerias Lynn Bailey - A Dog's New Life | |
August 19, 2020 |
July was a very busy month for us at the shelter, quite a few new rescues. We are getting phone calls and requests to rescue multiple times per day as more and more dogs are being surrendered and abandoned. We currently have 76 dogs at ADNL in different stages of availability to adopt. Watch the video on the rescue of Sunny, Mike and Frankie.
We've decided to give our logo a new look! The new logo is easier for us to use on items we can sell for fundraising. T-shirts, coffee cups, hats, etc. Hoping to have a great choice of items available for you to purchase in High Season. Today is the rollout and so you will now see our new logo updated on Facebook, our Webpage, and on Instagram. Visit our ADNL Online Store on Facebook.
Due to all the new rescues and the many medical conditions that they have, we have been stretched to the max with our finances this summer. To keep everyone updated on what we are spending every month at the shelter we have added the information in a pie chart.
The donations received for July were a total of $87,964.50 pesos with a total expense amount of $92,854.20, putting us in the red for $4,889.70.
We also were able to purchase a new generator, weed whipper, and a washing machine this month thanks to donations. The generator we had broke down and needed substantial repairs. The generator is crucial for us to deliver water throughout the shelter from the Tinaco's by the front of the shelter. Our last weed whipper was stolen a few months ago and with the rainy season, it's coming in very handy to keep the vegetation down. Our laundry person also recently said they no longer wanted our business due to the condition of the blankets and towels that we need to be cleaned for the dogs. The washing machine will allow us to keep up on them and provide clean and dry blankets for the dog's kennels.
Volunteers are always needed out at the shelter, the list is a mile long! From cleaning, walking, playing, or even rides to the vet. If you'd like to help out we'd love to have you out at the shelter.
If your interested in fostering or adopting please get ahold of us as we are desperate for homes for the dogs. Go to our Adoption Page to see all the wonderful dogs available or PM or email us for more information. If you would like to foster please send us an application.
Any and all donations are greatly appreciated and welcome at Donate.
