14th Annual Entreamgos Children's Art Festival and More Entreamigos

Over the past 3 months, over 45 students have worked in small groups with 14 different professional artists to create works of art that will be on display in our library on Thursday, February 18th.

In addi.tion to the incredible works of art, we will also be debuting our library mural created by Tania Morales and a new recycled bottle art installation created by Julie and Erik LaGacie together with the children of San Pancho.

This year, to ensure everyone's safety, there will be an open house for families to view the exhibit 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. We will open exclusively for adults as this month's Artist Corner from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.

At the Artist Corner, there will be art available to purchase created by the volunteer workshop teachers and wine offered. We will have glasses, but if you prefer to bring your own glass that is fine too. We would like to limit the attendees to a maximum of 15 adults at a time, so please email info@entreamigos.org.mx to reserve a time slot.

We look forward to sharing the beautiful and inspiring works of the children with you all!  
 
Scholarship Students Get New Shoes
 
The first 24 scholarship students have received their new pair of shoes for this year. Over the next month, we will continue to place orders so that all 61 elementary and middle school scholarship students receive a new pair of shoes.

Women's Group Learns New Crafts
 
This past month, our Creative Women's Group participated in two new workshop series to add to their ever-growing list of skill sets. In their macrame class, they learned to turn old T-shirts into beautiful woven creations like planters and pot holders. Then, this week the learned print-making on linoleum using recycled book pages. Thank you to Laura Pregon and Gaelle Posada for teaching what you know and allowing other women to learn from your creativity.

Also, we have now begun to open up these incredible opportunities to other women for a suggested donation. So, if you are not a member of our Creative Women's Group, but would enjoy participating in these types of workshops together with them, please email us at info@entreamigos.org.mx.

WAYS TO SUPPORT
 
We Need Face Masks

We have been so fortunate so far to be able to give out face masks at our door, so that no community member is turned away. However, we have run out and are currently not able to sustain this service. So, if anyone is able to donate clean, unused face masks, we would be so grateful to be able to give them away again. If you have some to donate, you can drop them off Monday-Friday between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. Thanks!

One way to directly support the economy of women from our community AND help protect the environment is to order your set (or sets) of glasses for your home with Entreamigos. Women from our Creative Women's Group learn to cut, sand and engrave wine and other glass bottles, turning them into beautiful and useful upcycled products.
