This week two of our students missed classes to take advantage of an opportunity to participate in the Vallarta Open Tennis Tournament as ball boys. Both Nadin and Leonel are members of our tennis program team. They were able to observe and be inspired by high ranking players at the tournament, learn more about rules and strategies, and earn a few extra pesos for their efforts.
Although academics and arts are important, this was an experience for them to broaden their horizons.
The rest of us were here at Kids Club enjoying some fun activities and learning.
The Advanced classes are practicing their multiplication tables and mixed problems with natural numbers, decimals, and variables x, y. They are also practicing their verb tenses and integrating them into sentences.
The Process group classes this week saw numbers in decimals and problems with numbers in millions and billions to solve with addition and subtraction. With both groups, we have completed the project on foods of animal origin, vegetable origin and junk food, focusing on the advantages and disadvantages that they produce in the human body.
The Emergent classes have been working on addition and subtraction tables, numbers up to 60, as well as identifying and measuring the perimeter of shapes. To reinforce the concepts they enjoyed a mathematics relay race and had an interactive shopping activity in which they had a budget, bought or sold items, and counted their change. We are also working on a booklet of all the letters of the alphabet to have it ready by the end of December, and in 2022 to fully start reading.
We wrapped up the week with a birthday party for our youngest student Irving who turned 5. We all enjoyed tostadas, cake and drinks brought by his mother followed by some fun party games like musical chairs.

In Rhythm and Movement we are working on the choreography and songs that we will present in December.
Lilly is putting the final touches on the Holiday song and dance presentation schedule December 15th at the Marina La Cruz Amphitheatre. The public is welcome to attend. Stay tuned for further details.
