Vallarta Food Bank (Brazils on Tour)

Our first major fundraiser Spring Fling was a great success! We raised over $800,000 pesos from the event. The fund will be crucial for the coming raining season when the lines at our soup kitchen will be longer due to low-season unemployment and annual flooding. A big thank you to everyone who came out to support us and the work that we do. We’re already excited about next year’s Spring Fling. Please save the date of March 5, 2023, for our next event.

It's been 2 years since the Vallarta Food Bank started, and so much has happened in those 2 years. For all of us it seems like just yesterday we were making it happen on a wing and a prayer and yet... here we are 2 years later going strong.

2 years of heartaches, struggle, pain, and personal tragedies. Yet also 2 years of new friends, heartwarming stories, growth, and helping Vallarta and her neighbors.

From what was Tunnel Road BBQ with some family and friends we created a symbol of hope and help. The emotions as I go thru all the photos swell a sense of pride in me. We have (with the help and support of SO MANY) helped change the trajectories of so many lives!

Thanks to all the support and help over these past years, when there was a need, we were able to help. When there was a tragedy and our neighbors asked for help, we were able to go and do.

5 days a week we still fire up the kitchen and serve over 500-700 servings daily. We send hundreds of despensas all over the municipality. We help other organizations help others. We educate. We clean. And do it day in and day out. Our volunteers pour their souls into the mission.

They answer the call to help and raise an army to lend a hand. Our donors pour money into our hands to keep the food flowing. Rising food costs keep us hunting for the best prices to keep the pots full, and keep the truckloads of dry goods coming.

In 2 years we have gone from a couple of friends trying to lend a hand, to a family powerhouse of help and love. I am so proud of all that has been accomplished and hopeful for what is to come. I wouldn't rather do it with any other group of people! Thank you all.
