Looking for a furry addition to your family? There are many great Vallarta-Nayarit dog rescue shelters and adoption centers for you to start your search. Pet adoption is always a great way to go. Not only does adopting a pet from an animal rescue organization save a life, but it can also save you money.
They usually ask for a small fee to help support the organization and facilitate the care of other animals. Puppies will normally have a slightly higher fee than adult dogs. This is because puppies require more vaccinations, and they’re also more popular with prospective pet parents.
SPCA Puerto Vallarta
SPCA Puerto Vallarta (Sociedad Protectora y Compasiva por los Animales PV) was founded by Janice Chatterton and opened its doors in 2012. It is a local organization that helps rescue animals, promotes sterilization, and facilitates pet adoption for animals in the Puerto Vallarta area.
SPCA Puerto Vallarta is a no-kill shelter and can house up to 130 animals at once. Their main goal is to eliminate the euthanasia of healthy and adoptable animals. They rescue and re-home about 200 animals each year. More Information

They also help promote spay and neutering to end the suffering of overpopulation and unwanted animals. They even help with re-homing healthy pets back into loving homes in Canada or the US! A Dog’s New Life Bucerias also has a great “Foster to Adopt” program. More Information
