Passing on this happy news...
All of us in Puerto Vallarta that have missed our favorite restaurant for many years, Los Arbolitos, are more than pleased with their reopening. As many of you remember, the restaurant was closed due to the death of one of the owners.
The following comments were posted on TripAdvisor regarding the reopening:
"Los Arbolitos was opened again to the Public on September 10, 2012. The family of Araiza Rodriguez is present but with another administration. Same concept, same food and atmosphere, now it's in the hands of Marisa and Grace Bridge, very good friends of the family, that used to be the photographers (for 20 years) at El Panorama Restaurant also in Vallarta." ...suze2you
"Hospitality second to none... Marisa, Grace, and Tomas, hands down the three most wonderful people my wife and I had the pleasure to meet in our time in Viejo Vallarta. We will never forget you either Tomas. The restaurant is on the north end of town, a great way to see town by walking or a super fast cab ride there to a beautiful 3 floor oasis that really screams Mexico. Our recommendation is the top floor overlooking the ez rapids of Rio Cuale. Make sure to sample the house tequila...so impeccably smooth. I do not eat raw onions, so they made me fresh pico de gallo with cucumber instead, not just once but a few days later when we went back to the restaurant to say good bye. ABRAZOS Y BESOS we will see you again OXOXOX" ...animalhouse505
"This Bar/Restaurant has been reopened and it awesome. Marisa has done a marvelous job with her daughter and the staff, the best ever. Looking right over the river, this 3 level place has a wonderful interior same as before. Eduardo provides excellent service (funny) and a personable waiter ( one of the best). Cook is amazing, the food is top of the line. I wish them the best in their new adventure and well to say the least, I found my new place to hang out. Marisa and the gang make you feel like family. Did I mention the TEQUILA? Oh my, the best I have ever had in Puerto Vallarta. The food is amazing! Oh, (Rogelio) the Saxophone player gives the atmosphere that magical touch. With this whole combination, Marisa has one of the best places in Puerto Vallarta to be a 'MUST GO' on your list. Thank you Marisa and the gang for making me feel at home and well, I am now a REGULAR :-) Cheers" ...THEGOODLIFE111

You'll find the Owner, Marisa Puente, and all of her staff to be welcoming and friendly in a way that you won't forget! "We were excited to see that it was reopening as it had been a long time favorite. We were greeted enthusiastically by the new owner, Marisa. The interior remains largely as we remembered it which is a traditional Mexican decor. The first thing we had to know was that the margaritas would be among the best and they were. Our waiter was Eduardo (formerly with the now closed Las Palomas). He has a great sense of humor and provided excellent service. Hugo is the captain and provided expert tableside preparation of our guacamole, caesar salad, and bananas flambe. All were very good. For the entree we shared the Shrimp Relleno which we greatly enjoyed. The music may be evolving but on this first night there was a saxophone player (Rogelio) and his contribution to the atmosphere was magical. Of course the margaritas may have had something to due to it as there were several. We look forward to our next visit with the new Arbolitos." ...Montana721
"We visited the restaurant on 9/23/2012 and had lunch there. I had Seafood Soup and it was delicious. Eduardo, our waiter was very funny and made us feel right at home. We now call Puerto Vallarta home and this is a place we'll be coming back to for the food, the atmosphere and the great staff. We highly recommend you try this place!!!" ...badanthony
"The Restaurant Los Arbolitos is incredible, outstanding and the best Mexican food I have ever had!! They had closed for personal family reasons and now it was taken over by a young Lady called Grace and her mom. The food is so good because they kept the family tradition of the former owners but the flavor is superb... All the innovations are very tasty and the service is also extraordinary, the music to die for with a guy called Rogelio on the sax that payed by request and you can tip. They also come make the guacamole at your table with this very cute, very young charming boy called Erik! All together, this was by all means our best experience wile dining in Puerto Vallarta!" ...Bridgecolor
"Head inland on L. Cardenas to the corner of Rivera del Rio, you can get there on foot from the south-side (about 15 minute walk in from the beach) or bus or taxi from anywhere around town. Same street as Red Cabbage." ...suze2you
