Amigos de la Cruz has funded therapy sessions for the past 6 months. Because of limited funds, Amigos cannot continue to fund from the general budget past September 30.
Carmen Tapia reports that a La Cruz student has experienced extreme anger and depression issues.
During COVID both parents were very ill, the children spent their days inside their home without quality adult supervision which exacerbated behavioral and emotional issues.
The entire family are all working together to achieve family goals with the help of an organization in Puerto Vallarta called Pasos Adelante (located at Plaza Marina). The assigned psychologist has been putting together a report and new goals each week, and explains both to the child and mother. The family has been working together to achieve these goals, and feels that they are hopeful to turn their lives around.
The child has improved his behavior to the point that he monitors himself with a chart of a stoplight posted on the refrigerator.
Amigos de la Cruz has funded the therapies so far, but at this point we welcome donors to continue with the family sessions for at least 6 more months. Please donate here
