To all of our Pasitos de Luz and Casa Connor Friends,

We hope you had a wonderful summer! As president of the Pasitos de Luz - Casa Connor Board of Directors, I would like to thank all of you for your support and to update you on recent developments. As supporters, you have been very instrumental in our most recent key successes that we would like to share with you.

First and foremost, the children have now been attending consistently for over 7 months! After some tumultuous times with Covid impacting attendance, we are gradually working to return to pre-COVID numbers. There are several things that are impacting the rate of return. One is that we are looking to increase our numbers of volunteers. We are also beginning to return to pre-Covid staffing numbers. By the end of 2022, we hope to have the capacity to accept all of our previous children that are available to return, and plan to expand with more new children.

Introducing MCA Mexico's Canadian Angels Foundation

Secondly, we have gained a new partner in Canada. MCA Mexico’s Canadian Angels Foundation is a Canadian federal not-for-profit corporation and a newly-registered charity. MCA provides Canadian tax-deductible receipts for donors to directly offer support and specialized care to children and youth with disabilities attending Casa Connor in Mexico. MCA does not charge processing fees on donations and its board members are volunteers, some of whom are also on Pasitos de Luz - Casa Connor Board of Directors. The addition of MCA as a partner will allow us to help more children at Casa Connor. For more information about MCA, please visit MCAngels.org

We would also like to sincerely thank the Canadian Children's Shelter of Hope Foundation, as well as Children's Shelter of Hope Foundation and Banderas Bay Charities in the United States, for their continuing and valued support.

The dormitories at Casa Connor are now complete

Third is an exciting project completion. With the help of many of our donors, we have been able to complete dormitories on the second floor of Casa Connor. These facilities have the capacity to house volunteers on-site. We are excited about the prospects that this new addition can bring for the children from volunteers who are interested in helping and are in need of short-term accommodation.

After six years since our opening, we are delighted that the entire building is substantially completed. We will now focus on maximizing the utilization of the building, as we still have a waiting list of over 110 children. This can only be achieved with the continuous and wonderful support from each and every one of you, for which we are incredibly grateful.

There are many ways to help!

Please consider joining our monthly giving program, Love Pasitos Monthly, or making a one-time donation today to help as many of these children as possible. You can donate here and receive a tax-deductible receipt from Canada, USA or Mexico. If you are interested in volunteering, attending a Pasitos event or would like to visit Pasitos de Luz at Casa Connor, please let us know.

With fall now upon us, we look forward to seeing many of you in Puerto Vallarta and/or the Bay of Banderas. If you are in Canada, please watch for updates about our matching donation campaign to be held in November. If you will be in Calgary, Alberta, we hope to see you at our Fall Fiesta to be held November 19! We would love to have you join with us!

By working together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of the kids that come to Pasitos de Luz at Casa Connor. We would love to hear from you. Email us: info@pasitosdeluz.org
