Update: We're putting the final touches on the Dance and Ukulele pieces for the presentation next Tuesday, May 30, 2023, to be held at the Marina Amphitheatre from 6-7 pm. The event is open to the public and we welcome everyone to come out and support the children as they share their talents.
In honor of Mother's Day in Mexico, the children had a variety of activities and projects to recognize and celebrate their mothers. They made an award of appreciation recognizing the things their mother does for them and their families and decorated cards for their mothers as well.
Also, we celebrated Teacher's Day with lunch for the Kids Club teachers at Mariscos Garcia here in La Cruz. The students also brought thoughtful gifts of cookies, treats, and other tokens of appreciation. We are truly grateful for all the energy and dedication Alejandra, Mayra, and Lilly give to our students.
The kids have been practicing their swim strokes and fine-tuning their technique. The practice culminated with 50-meter medley relay races this week. They are embracing friendly competition and rivalry among the mixed-ability teams.
We are continuing to practice our dances and Ukuleles for our presentation coming up on the 25th of May at 6 pm. This will be our first event held at the Kids Club. All parents and community members are invited to enjoy the children's performance.
