For the first time in the history of Puerto Vallarta, the Municipal DIF System led by María de Jesús López Delgado has made it possible for a homoparental couple to be certified as a foster family. The objective of this certification is to provide a child with a family environment that prepares him for his future and promotes his well-being. This alternative allows the child to live in a home where affection is provided, after having been left without parental care.
“The DIF team has always provided us with support and advice, and thanks to them, this has been possible,” said an emotional Arturo Gutiérrez Ruelas, who together with his partner Juan Pedro Aguirre, received Leo with an emotional hug at the central offices of the healthcare institution.
During the welcoming ceremony for the new family, President María de Jesús “Chuyita” López invited other families to approach the DIF System, learn about the processes and obtain adequate information on the procedures for fostering or adopting children and adolescents.
