Nursing Beyond Borders is seeking volunteers to provide check-ups and education to children in Bucerías, Mexico. The organization is looking for registered nurses (RNs) who are available to travel to Mexico for a week or two this coming winter.
Volunteers will work with local healthcare providers to provide physical exams, dental screenings, and vision tests to children at the Bucerías Migrant School. They will also provide health education to the children and their families.
Nursing Beyond Borders is a non-profit organization that has been providing healthcare to children in developing countries for over 20 years. The organization's mission is to improve the health and well-being of children through education, prevention, and sustainable partnerships with local providers.

Bucerías Migrant School Winter 2024 (option 1)
This trip will last one week (4 clinic days), and we will need 4 nurses to provide check-ups and education to the migrant children at this school.
Bucerías Migrant School Winter 2024 (option 2)
This trip will last 14 days (10 clinic days), and we will need 2 nurses to facilitate follow-up to the migrant children at this school.
All of these options are projected to cost ~$1400 per RN (part of this cost is subsidized by NBB - see below) this price includes airfare, lodging, transportation, and many needed supplies for the dates stated. NBB plans to be in Mexico for a total of 3 weeks between these two different teams of nurses.
If you are interested in volunteering for this trip we will need 6 nurses to make this trip possible.
Supplemented Cost: At this time we estimate that each participant will need to donate $900 towards Option 1 and $700 towards Option 2. The deposit will be due 4 months prior to departure to secure your spot. We will begin interviews in 5 months prior to departure. Every volunteer is welcome to raise their projected cost. Many volunteers are able to fund their entire cost through a Facebook fundraiser linked to Nursing Beyond Borders.
