March shopping for 18 families! (AFCC)
Receiving the news that a child has been diagnosed with cancer is absolutely heartbreaking for any parent, family member, or friend. The child and the rest of the family are shocked, saddened, frightened, and wondering how they will rearrange their lives around this devastating news. Not only does a cancer diagnosis turn a child’s entire world upside down, but overwhelming medical expenses can add an enormous amount of financial stress on families.
In addition to treatments, other costs such as food, lodging for a parent while the child is in hospital, and transportation to and from Guadalajara add to quickly mounting stacks of medical bills. Usually, there are other children to care for. While one parent is staying with the hospitalized child, the other parent struggles to care for the rest of the family.
Aid to Families of Children with Cancer (AFCC) is an organization that supports 18 families who have a child diagnosed with cancer in the Puerto Vallarta region. The organization receives no government funding, so it relies solely on donations from private donors, corporate sponsors, community organizations, and fundraisers. No volunteers receive a salary, so all money donated goes directly to the families of children with cancer.
Some of the services AFCC provides:
Let’s do what we can to help these families in need so they can focus on the most important thing... getting their child the treatments they need and on the track towards being healthy. You can donate to help cover medicines, food and many of the other requirements for these 18 families through GoGetFunding.
We appreciate any help or contribution, no matter how big or small! If possible, please share our campaign link on social media (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and with your friends. We will keep you posted on the use of funds and the progress of the children going forward.
