Fundación Voluntarias Contra el Cáncer, A.C. is a social organization, accredited and legally constituted since November 1987 and recognized by the IJAS.

It is made up of active members who develop beneficial activities and cooperating members who are those who provide financial or other types of assistance to the Association.

It was founded thanks to the sensitivity and commitment of an altruistic group of ladies wives of the members of the Livestock Union of Jalisco, concentrating its activities in the most vulnerable population, recognizing and addressing various needs.

We support women who want to be physically and emotionally rebuilt after a mastectomy.

Our Services

• Model: Our model of care focuses on supporting the patient during their diagnosis and treatment process, encouraging active coping with reliable information, in addition to offering the patient emotional therapy, workshops where constant training is strengthened as well as learning a trade for the generation of work that allows them to have resources; besides being an association concerned about rebuilding their body seeking to improve their self-esteem with reconstruction.
• Navigation: Support the patient with breast cancer from the moment they arrive at the hospital unit, receive special attention from our navigators, which will support them in their administrative procedures, streamlining the time of care and streamlining them to receive promptly the appropriate treatment, also providing a warm company, to make less tense and overwhelming waiting for results.
• Breast Reconstruction: Breast reconstruction is an act of justice, trying to give back to the survivor something very important that cancer took from her. It is an emotional closure to a disease that as long as the body is not reconstructed, it will be coexisting with her all the time. That is why it is so important to close cycles and start a new reconstruction of life.
• Emotional Support: Emotional support as part of the fundamental process of breast cancer treatment, since it is important the attention and management of emotions in a disease like this. In addition to consolidating the social support group reactivating networks and making new social support networks, fundamental for the management of chronic disease.
• Workshops: We offer various workshops with the purpose of having some occupational therapy but also to learn a trade that can generate economic remuneration, and psychoeducate them, with respect to their illness.

Navigators

Throughout the entire care process, including at its conclusion, patients and their families are provided with psychological and assistance support from health professionals and highly trained personnel.

We also offer free workshops given by experts, in order to provide a pleasant and comforting space.
