Compassion for the Family takes domestic violence against women very seriously. It’s imperative that women and their children be provided safe refuge from abuse. We are committed to providing this service that is so badly needed in Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding areas of Mexico.

In order to provide this service, Compassion for the Family is maintaining and constructing shelters and drop-in centers in discrete locations, non disclosure of facility locations is imperative if the organization is to be able to provide a safe refuge.

How You Can Help

Tax-deductible cash, check or credit card donations help us build new shelters and drop-in centers as well as covering the costs of day to day operations. If you are local to Puerto Vallarta or traveling to the Banderas Bay region, we are in continual need of hygiene products, toiletries, luggage, clothing, craft supplies, and cleaning products. Our Services

Safe housing, education including ESL, legal procedures assistance, employment opportunities, small no interest business loans to women, psychological and physical health components including child and mom counseling sessions in a nurturing, supportive and non-judgmental environment.

Volunteer at Compassion for the Family

We love to have volunteers and there is a great need for them, especially during the months of January through April. Special skills or not, you can volunteer with us. All is needed is a desire to help. There are opportunities to teach a special skill such as sewing, computers or baking.

You can be a teacher assistant or organize special activities for the children or their mothers. You can just spend time with the families and participate in daily activities.

Consider a vacation with a purpose. The Banderas Bay Women´s Shelter is located in the Puerto Vallarta, Mexico area. You can enjoy beautiful beaches, fishing, whale watching and much more while serving.
