Following is just an overview of all the events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.
El Arrayan Cooking Class - Monday
Meet at El Arrayán at 9:30 am. Go for traditional Mexican breakfast, visit the market & tortilla factory. Come back to El Arrayán, receive printed recipes in English and embroidered apron. Receive hands on instruction in English. Have lunch of what we cooked. Includes one drink or one glass Mexican red or white wine. Transportation is included: restaurant to breakfast to market & back to restaurant. We are usually finished around 2:45 pm.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Festivities - Monday through Sunday
Festivities and processions during the first twelve days of December each year involve tens of thousands of Puerto Vallarta inhabitants and visitors, who pay homage to commemorate the appearance of the Virgin Mary to the peasant Juan Diego on December 12, 1531.
The streets of Puerto Vallarta come alive with traditional parades and other festivities in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
The colorful festival combines both ancient Aztec and modern Christian symbolism, with dance groups performing in the streets.
Most of the processions begin or end around the church of Our Lady of Guadalupe at the Town Square in Downtown Puerto Vallarta. This structure is topped with an elaborate crown, said to have been modeled after a tiara worn by the mistress of Emperor Maximilia.
Free Malecon Sculpture Walking Tour - Tuesday
Gary Thompson, owner of Galeria Pacifico, conducts a FREE Malecon Sculpture Walking Tour in downtown Puerto Vallarta every Tuesday morning from mid-November through mid-April.
The tour begins promptly at 9:30 am at the north end of the Malecon in front of the Millennium sculpture which is next to the Hotel Rosita.
The 2-hour tour usually commences with artist Mathis Lidice describing and discussing his inspiration for the massive landmark sculpture Millennium. After about 15 minutes the art walk continues on to the next sculpture with interesting discussion taking place in front of each bronze statue.
Kitty Bingo at Margarita Grill - Wednesday
Come play Bingo with PuRR Project on Wednesday, December 7!
We’re back at Margarita Grill with great prizes like 200-peso gift certificates for Hacienda Alemana, Derby City Burgers, Joe Jack’s and Starbucks, fresh-baked chocolate-chip cookies from the Coffee Cup-Marina, bottles of tequila and wine, jewelry, and mucho mas — plus our famous multiple-pull 50/50 raffle, and Margarita Grill’s food and drink specials just for us bingo players!
Calling the numbers this week will be the husband-and-wife team of Connie Argus and Thom Barnes — guaranteed to be a fun night!
Get there early for a good seat ~ cards go on sale at 4:30 pm; the fun starts at 5:00.
Downtown Vallarta Art Walk - Wednesday
Puerto Vallarta has established itself as a vibrant center of art creation, exhibition and promotion. An important contribution to the city´s art scene is Puerto Vallarta´s ArtWalk which this year will be held every Wednesday, 6:00 - 10:00 pm through May 25, 2016.
The participating galleries in Centro Historico offer works by important national and international artists. Remarkable paintings, exceptional sculptures, fine ceramics, blown glass and other types of noteworthly art are offered.
Bucerias Day Tours - Thursday
Last tour season of Human Connections we channelled over US$12,000 into our clients' hands through our educational tours and programs, and we know that with your support this number can grow in the coming season.

Garden Dinner Party Fundraiser - Thursday
It is with great enthusiasm that Human Connections announces its first annual holiday fundraiser.
On December 8th at 6:00 pm, Human Connections will join the local restaurant La Postal in Bucerias to host its annual fundraiser dinner & silent auction.
Join our Garden Dinner Party for live music, great food, and a chance to support a good cause.
Pig Roast/Luau on the Beach Fundraiser - Friday
PuRR Project Puerto Vallarta invites you to attend the Pig Roast/Luau on the Beach with a special Polynesian dance performance by Academia Danza de Moorea.
We hope to see you on Friday, December 9 at 5:00 pm. Venue will be at the Sea Monkey Restaurant on Los Muertos Beach at Aquiles Serdan in Old Town Vallarta.
Your donation ticket includes a wonderful dinner on the beach, two drinks, fabulous entertainment and great raffle prizes.
Dog Adoption Walks on the Malecon - Friday
Join the volunteers from Vallarta Adventures as they parade the pups and adult dogs that are available for adoption up and down the Malecon.
The fun and healthy walk begins every Friday at 7:00 pm and the two hour walk begins at Hotel Rosita at the north end of Vallarta's oceanfront Boardwalk.
These rescue dogs will be all ages, all sizes and various breeds and mixed breeds. They will all be sterilized and be wearing neon green "Adopt Me" jackets.
Good Morning Wake-Up Radio Show - Saturday
The Saturday morning Wake Up Show hosted by Michael Nolen broadcast from the University of Guadalajara at Puerto Vallarta, set your radio dial to 104.3 fm every Saturday morning from 9:00 until 10:00 am. You can also tune in online.
This show is all in English and is a non-profit show paid for by the University.
The broadcast includes information about everything going on at the PV University of Guadalajara and how you, the English-speaking community, can become involved.
Christmas Concerts 2016 - Sunday
The Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra invites you to their Christmas Concert 2016 with Mozart's Horn Concerto No. 1, Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite and the Christmas favorites everybody loves!
The Puerta Vallarta Chamber Orchestra will be performing their two annual Christmas Concerts on December 11th and 12th at 8:00 pm.
The performance on Sunday, December 11 will be at the American School in Marina Vallarta.
The venue for Monday, December 12 will be the Paraiso Salon of Paradise Village in Nuevo Vallarta.
