San Juan Diego senior home is our contribution to improve the quality of life for the elderly in our community.

We work in different areas of training that offer tools to the families in the best interest of our elders and to show our appreciation for the enormous contribution they have made to the development of our society and environment and which is today enjoyed by all.

This project was launched with the constitution of the Civil Association, "Asilo San Juan Diego AC" on June 7, 2002. This initiative was started by Priest Antonio Aldana Cardona who at the time was pastor of the Church of Guadalupe in Puerto Vallarta. The city of Puerto Vallarta provided the use of land in Lomas de San Nicolas colony where the first stone on construction for the big building was placed on June 7, 2003.

During the last 8 years of intense fundraising efforts within the community, the construction continued with the goal of providing a dignified space for the elderly of this region.

We are a nonprofit organization (Civil Association) created to improve the quality of life for our elders so their last years can be lived in dignity and full of happiness.

We also offer families of Puerto Vallarta alternative care and support for their elderly family members with a day care system. With this service, the senior can enjoy each others company, therapy services, health and recreation to improve their quality of life.

Our mission is to help improve the quality of life of older adults, offering solutions to continue the process of personal and emotional development. To create a community culture of respect, care and support programs that work to the full of their potential to allow the self-sustainability of the institution as well as the satisfaction of the staff working toward this goal.

Our vision is to be the leading organization in this community that provides older adults the services they need to improve the quality of life by integrating solutions of medical care, therapies, recreation, etc. The goal is the satisfaction of our seniors and to be a shining example for the treatment and care of the elderly within our culture and community.

Volunteers are greatly appreciated and needed and will be assigned duties according the availability of jobs and the profile of the person wishing to participate.

Areas where you can participate:

1. Cleaning of the common areas of the facility.

2. Nurse management tasks such as physical and moral support for residents and day care attendees during programs.

3. Cleaning and maintenance of the gardens.

4. Recreational work such as reading, games and occupational therapy.

5. Support during meal times to serve and assist residents and daytime attendees.

6. Activities related to prayer.

7. Fundraising with the direct authorization and supervision of the board of directors for Asilo San Juan Diego.

8. Activities to create musical or theatrical productions for the entertainment of the residents.

9. Support during day trips, walks or outings for the residents.

Being a Godfather/Godmother gives you the opportunity to change the life of one of our seniors creating a bond based on values and have the satisfaction to help someone else. We invite you to participate in this major project, you have several options to support them.

Your contribution allow us to allocate the resources generously provided, the daily support of our seniors such as, food, medicines and expenses needed to give them an adequate stay in our home.

As a Godfather/Godmother you will receive a welcome package from our institution with all the information on the Asilo San Juan Diego, a thanking letter and certificate as well as your membership card program.

The benefits you get are mainly the satisfation to participate in a high-impact social work, helping to improve the standard of living of the elderly in our community and the possibility of exchanging experiences with all of them.

Charge to credit card

It's the easiest way to donate. Provides the details of your card when affiliate and select the frequency with you want to cover your contributions (annual, semiannual, quarterly, bimonthly, monthly). Asilo San Juan Diego AC will charge the amount automatically.

Bank Deposit

You can make your deposit at any branch of Banco Banorte with reference numbers that we provide to affiliate to the program. If you later want to simplify this process and become automatic charges to your credit card, you can request this service by calling the Godfathers Program representative at the Asilo San Juan Diego AC.

Wire Transfer

You can also donate to the GODFATHERS Program through electronic transfers.

The Asilo San Juan Diego Bazaar was created to raise funds for the construction of the nursing home building and to have a steady stream of income that would permit permanent progress of the construction work.

The Asilo San Juan Diego Bazaar is located at #198 Brasilia St on the South side of the Municipal stadium in the 5 de Diciembre colony

The bazaar is directed by Ms. Esther Sanchez who is an active member of the Board and is responsible for operation and control. Mr. William Sayner, Linda of Sayn and Maria Luisa Gomez are in charge of the operation and though their dedication and commitment have made this contribution to the dream of building a decent place for the elderly people of Puerto Vallarta.

In the bazaar you can find many items that are donated by benefactors of the nursing home, Hotels, and Companies that provide in-kind support to continue the work.

You can find all sorts of household items, linens, towels, kitchen utensils, and an impressive range of dresses and clothes for ladies and gentlemen.

It is located at #198 Brasilia St to one side of the Municipal stadium in the 5 de Diciembre colony.

The Bazaar is usually open from 8:30 AM to 2 PM Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On Tuesday it is open from 8 AM to 7:30 PM.
